Latino Caucus Newsletter: June 2018
Greetings from the Steering Committee!
Here you will find reports from each subcommittee. I want to thank the members of the committees for their valuable contributions and hard work. As you will see, we have so much to report!
This year has had many “firsts.” Our first Tri-Caucus Pre-Conference for members was held in Minneapolis this Spring. We created a new Mid-Career Award, and now offer two Dissertation Awards. Nominations for all awards (dissertation, early-career, and mid-career) are due by June 15, 2018. Awards will be presented at the 2019 meeting.
In addition, SRCD officially invited the Tri-Caucus to become part of the organization this year. Steering committees across caucuses worked hard to ensure that this new relationship would promote our research missions within the society. As a result, caucuses will now have opportunities to: (a) provide nominations for Editors, Committee Chairs, and Awards; (b) meet regularly with the Executive Director and Committee Chairs; (c) access legal and program resources; and (d) request larger meeting spaces during the Biennial program.
We will continue to work with SRCD to ensure that the Latino Caucus is a vibrant, intellectually stimulating community that is connected, productive, and supportive of its members’ research.
